The aim of the "Manufacturing and Supply Chain" funding scheme is to finance investment projects across a wide range of businesses operating in these specific sectors. The purpose is to technologically, productively, managerially, and organizationally upgrade these businesses, as well as to foster innovative and outward-looking development and growth, with the goal of enhancing their competitive position in the domestic and international markets.
Investment projects submitted must be comprehensive initial investments and may include additional eligible expenses.
- Tourism
The tourism sector constitutes a significant part of the new Development Law 4887/2022, being a strategically important sector for the country's economy.
The funding scheme for tourism businesses aims to provide support for a broad range of tourism investments, primarily concerning the creation, expansion, and modernization of comprehensive tourist accommodations throughout the territory. The main goal is to enhance the quality of the tourism product.
The key points of the scheme are:
a. Support for the establishment or expansion of hotel units with at least four (4) stars.
b. Support for the modernization of comprehensive hotel units that belong to or are upgraded to a minimum category of three (3) stars.
- Primary Sector
The primary sector is an integral part of Greek history and culture and has traditionally supported the Greek economy. The new Development Law provides for the stimulation of the primary sector with the funding scheme "Agri-food – Primary Production and Processing of Agricultural Products – Fisheries – Aquaculture." The main purpose is to support business activities in the aforementioned sectors.
In this funding scheme, even individual enterprises can be included, with a maximum eligible investment project cost of two hundred thousand (200,000) euros.
- New Entrepreneurship
Supporting new businesses is one of the goals of the Development Law, which is the purpose of the "New Entrepreneurship" scheme. The aim is to cover the expenses of establishing new companies, implementing initial investments, and conducting research activities. Investment projects that fall within the sectors of the primary sector, processing of agricultural products, fisheries, aquaculture, research and applied innovation, digital and technological transformation, processing of other products, and the supply chain are included in this scheme.
Eligible beneficiaries of this scheme are newly established Very Small and Small Enterprises, in whose corporate capital only individuals participate, who have not previously held stakes in companies, except for holding shares in companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), and have not shown prior business activity and meet the income criteria specified in the relevant announcements.
