With the publication of the amendments to the programs in the "Green Transition for SMEs" action package, clarifications were provided regarding the tourism sector. Specifically, a new section titled "ELIGIBLE SECTORS OF ACTIVITY FOR TOURISM ACCOMMODATIONS" was added, according to which investment plans submitted with investment NACE code 55 "Accommodations" from the tourism sector must follow specific conditions as presented below:
For primary hotel accommodations:
1. The classification must be four (4) stars and above with a minimum capacity of 12 beds.
2. Hotel tourist accommodations within traditional buildings as defined by the presidential decree 33/1979 are eligible.
3. For organized tourist campsites (camping), the classification must be three (3) stars and above.
4. Youth hostels are eligible.
For non-primary hotel accommodations:
1. Self-catering accommodations – tourist furnished homes are eligible (Minimum Number of homes: Three – 3).
It is noted that all self-catering accommodations – tourist furnished homes must be registered under the same GNTO License.
2. Furnished rental rooms/apartments must be classified as four (4) keys and above with a minimum capacity of 12 beds.
Additionally, the amendments provide clarifications regarding the purchase of any type of boat or vessel, which must be over seven (7) meters, as well as for investment plans in the car/bus rental activity, where the procurement of fully electric vehicles is eligible.
All the above apply to both the "Green Productive Investment for SMEs" and "Green Transformation" programs.
The Action Package "Green Transition of SMEs" encourages investment plans aimed at utilizing and developing modern technologies, upgrading the products or/and services offered, and, in general, their activities. It promotes actions that leverage modern technologies, infrastructure, and best practices in energy efficiency and circular economy.
It is reminded that eligible expenses are:
– Buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas
– Machinery – Equipment (Conventional Expenses)
– Equipment (GREEN)
– Certification of Products – Services – Procedures
– Packaging Design – Labeling – Branding Services
– Promotion and Export Activities
– Participation in trade fairs
– Technical Studies & Consulting Services
– Transportation Means (GREEN) – Compulsorily electric
– Salary costs of new employees – (new staff from 1 to 3 FTEs)
The subsidy rate amounts to 40%, with the possibility of increasing to 50% by incurring Green expenses.
The submission of funding applications began on Wednesday, 22/03/2023, and will continue until the budget is exhausted.
