Photovoltaics are an investment that is definitely worth it. Below we present everything that you need to know about the installation of your photovoltaics. The solar energy that reaches to the photovoltaic panels is converted into electrical because of the photovoltaic phenomenon. PV panels generate DC current while loads consume alternating currents. For converting power to PV systems, DC inverters (DC / AC) are commonly used to enable the power supply of the DEI.
Installation on a terrace
The panelsare placed horizontally or vertically on 30 ° inclined aluminum bases. This gradient is optimal for the area of Northern Greece according to studies that have been developed. Also, PV panels should have a South orientation to achieve optimum performance.
They are placed in rows in such distance, so as to avoid in any case the shading created by one row to the next. According to the current national legislation, 1m wide space should be left free.
Also, a parapet on the perimeter of the roof should be constructed, the height of which should not exceed 1.20 m.
The support of the bases on the terrace of the house can be done in more ways. The most economical is the direct support of the bases, which are screwed on the roof. Some special materials are available in the market and can be used for more efficient insulation. In case the producer does not want the roof to be pierced, the support can be made of concrete bases. Another solution is a single ironwork on which the aluminum bases will be screwed.
In none of the above cases the roof is particularly burdensome because it is constructed to withstand much greater burdens. For example, the load of snow that can fall in winter has a much larger weight than the installation.
Installation on a roof
As for tiled roofs, the PV panels are positioned so that their slope is tilted to the slope of the roof. In order to support them, several dimensional hooks can be used which are screwed onto the roof frame (after removing some tiles, which will be repositioned after the completion of the works) on which an aluminum profile is placed on which the panels are mounted. Under no circumstances will an insulation problem be addressed. In the case of the tile roof, there should be a clearance of 0.5 m width perimeter of the roof.
Installation on a shelter
In many cases, the area of the roof or the roof surface facing south is not sufficient for the panels to be installed. A good solution is to build a shelter within the home environment (especially in villages that have a large yard area), which is designed to cover the area exactly as needed for the installation of panels for the power of 10 kW. It is a reliable and quick solution, because for its construction only a small-scale work permit is required from the town planning service, which is usually issued within 10 days of submitting the required supporting documents.
For a more complete recording and processing of the measurable electrical sizes of the installation, and for remote monitoring, a portable performance display is ideal for home installations.
Through the screen, you can read at a glance all the basics: daytime energy curve, instantaneous power, daily and total energy efficiency, monthly summary report, energy efficiency in euros or saved CO2 .
The data is stored in the device for at least 100 days and can be transferred to a computer via a USB cable, no additional software is required. In addition, in the event of a fault, Sunny Beam alerts on request with an audible signal.
